What we did today 13.04.11

Today we started off with a game called Islands. When you play Islands you have to run around until the caller calls a number. The number called tells how many people need to go into the hoop. Every round the caller takes away a hoop. If you aren't in the hoop you have to run around the area that the game is played in once before the next play.
Then I did Profiling with Sarah. That was about finding out about our personalities as learners and gifted and talented people. We read through descriptions and had to highlight the text and change the colour for the ones that sounded most like us.
I also started making up a speed thinking challenge for next term. But I can't tell you what it is because people will read it here and then know how to do it and what it is.
I also did the last P4C which i have already written about below.
It has been a good day and I am looking forward to coming back next term.

This is a screenshot of part of my profile from Sarah's workshop.

P4C Workshop

Today I did P4C with Darryn. P4C is all about making kids think really hard. P4C stands for Philosophy for Children.
P4C today was about whether we can we lie to ourselves? I do think we can lie to ourselves because you can think the right thing but you say the wrong thing to a friend so you are lying to yourself as well as your friend.
P4C is hard because you have to think really hard. The question may seem easy but it isn't and the more you think about it the harder it becomes and you change your mind a lot too.

Internet seraching 6.04.11

Today I did an Internet searching workshop with Alana. First we went on to google. When were in google we looked up still life art. Then we put speech marks before and after the words like "still life art". Next we went to advance search then we typed in what we wanted to search then we put k-12 beside it. K-12 means Kindergarden to 12th grade. You add K-12 in for safer child friendly options. By using these tips, you got less results but they were exactly what you were looking for.
